Clarification from an Alltel Consultant
The Q9C is GPS capable first of all. Second there is no reason for WiFi on the Q9C for Alltel because the purchase of the phone for the Sale price requires a 2 year contract and a Smart Choice Plan. The Smart Choice plan includes UNLIMITED data transfer unlike many competetors. If you have signal you have EVDO signal you have 2.4MB/s internet. Even 1X and Digital are faster than dial-up. If interfacing with your home network is your concern a simple program can be downloaded to your home PC or Server and to the Q9C to allow remote administration even from outside your home which blows WiFi out of the water. With the Expandable Memory slot having such high-capacity storage and the fact that you can create/edit Office documents. Sync your Outlook e-mail appointments contacts and calender, not to mention use Push technology with your microsoft exchange server the options are limitless. You can even use the Q9C to remotely control your TV, Media Center, or Projector. You can seemlessly use your phone to present, and control a Powerpoint Presentation on a projector, across a network, and more.
The Q9C also has a partitioned space that is not writeable by the user, unlike the Moto Q. I know this doesn't sound like a hot feature but inept users can no longer fill their memory to absolute maximum causing the phone to lock up and crash and burn. Even if you don't heed it's warnings to delete data from your phone because your almost out of memory, the phone won't crash and burn.
The new keyboard is much easier for people with larger fingers to type with and the rubber coating makes it easier to grip and control.
While you say they change the color and call it new. And fuss about the camera not being bigger and better you overlook all that is good. Even if they did make the camera better it wouldn't be 5.0 MP If you want a camera buy a camera, if you want a killer Windows Mobile 6 phone loaded with features, get the Q9C.
By the way, the Q9C is the first and only phone to incorporate a photosensor that can detect the amount of light around the phone to adjust the screen brighter in darkness and dimmer in light areas, boosting the phone's battery life beyond the competition.
