My colleagues always mention that I am lucky that I am single and dont have to go thru an approval process for buying toys.

Yeah. Most advertisers want to know information about the audience a particular site has in order to decide if it's a good audience to advertise to. Advertising dollars is how we keep this site running, so I'm hoping they'll think it's a good fit. ;-)
