Default FS: Ipaq 5455 + 5555 for parts

I have an ipaq 5455 for sale. I enjoyed using the built-in wifi, Nevo remote software, and fingerprint reader...really cool! However, I need a device that has both SD and CF slots to accomodate some CF accessories I have. Sale includes:
- box
- all original accessories, i.e.
- cradle
- HP leather/leatherette case (does show some wear)
- HP protective flip cover (opens to the left)
- UNOPENED software/manual set.
- extra battery
- stylus

I received it with a broken screen in another trade I did and have repaired it. It does have some scratches on the metal from the slide-on protective cover from HP (nice that the protective cover scratches isn't it...way to go HP!) The screen that I put on has a belkin screen protector on it, so I assume the screen is clear of scratches...I didn't take it off to look.

Asking price - $155 SHIPPED to CONUS

I also have an ipaq 5555 used to complete the repairs above. I purchased it used to make the repairs on the 5455. The seller said it occasionally had some power problems. The screen was fine, so I swapped it with the broken 5455 screen. In looking at the motherboard, it looks like someone performed a solder on it at one point (pic is below). Unit comes with:
- box
- cradle
- stylus
- some promo docs but NO software *** don't see the manual however.
- 2 batteries (orig seller had purchased an extra because of the power probs, so original may be bad)

I did get the unit to power up after leaving it on the charger and doing some resets, but can't get past the screen alignment with the broken screen (it's both the LCD and touchscreen). So, the unit MAY work fine, but I don't feel comfortable selling it as a working unit when it may flake out on you, so I'm selling it as parts.

Asking price - $45 SHIPPED to CONUS

I may have an extra stylus floating around I'll throw in if I find it. ** found - put with the 5455; now both units have 2 batteries and 2 stylii

I have an ebay account under pmradio99 with perfect feedback and a beginning heatware account under pmradio for references. Pics added below. Thanks!

Its none of my business, but that's a great price on a great PPC!

I had the 5455 and liked it a lot! It was one of my favorite PPC's of all time. I wish I only paid $175 for it... lol

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, Mike...sure it's your business! Appreciate the help. Actually, if it had a CF slot, I'd probably keep it as it's got some great features and would be a step up from my current Jornada 568. But, I've got some CF accessories I want to keep and use without having to drag along the sleeve. Thanks, again.

OK, here are the pics. You can find larger versions at this Photobucket Link

5455 Set

5455 Close up

5455 connected to Pocket PC Thoughts via wifi (it's in the cradle because the battery was low)

"Leather" case - you can see some wear on the bottom side

Scratches on the side due to the HP protective flip cover sliding on and off

Another shot of the scratches (the screen protector is bunched up a little)

The top has a small bit of chipping as well

Well, the good, the bad, the ugly. Perhaps not the best way to get top dollar, but I'd rather someone not feel cheated because I "forgot" to disclose something.

Photos of the 5555 are coming up next...

*** also, found an extra battery, so both the 5455 and 5555 will come with 2 batteries and 2 stylii

OK, here are the pics of the 5555 unit for parts. Again, it may work for you, it may be flaky, so I'm only selling for parts. More full-res pics here.

5555 set

5555 screen...unit is on, but since the screen is busted, part of the display doesn't show on the left side:

Part of the top is busted, the black "crown"

Side shot of busted screen - both LCD and touchscreen are broken

As a bonus, while I had it apart, I took a shot of the soldered connection inside that looks like it was done post-factory...at least I hope they aren't leaving the factory this way!

Hopefully, enough shots to satisfy the curious and prospective buyers as well. Thanks!

Interesting that your iPaq 5550 has a cracked crown... Mine has also, only I have two short cracks emanating from the left end of the Bluetooth LED, one going left and up, the other going right and up.

Maybe it was a bad batch of crowns?

That set of crowns must be known as the "Jack" batch.
