I know I saw a cheaper one somewhere several months ago, but this one is the only one I can locate right now. It costs an insane US$97, however, so I suspect it's out of the question for most people. I also find the Web site incredibly irritating. It sounds like it was written by the same people who write the spam I get each and every day -- a pompous "you-can't-live-another-day-without-this-software" advertising pitch.

I agree. Any site that makes claims like this turns my stomach:

"But Armand, I already have an eCover,

All we need now is a "But WAIT, there's MORE!", some ginsu knives and a toothy guy in a fuzzy sweater and we've got a typical infomercial. :roll:

Seriously, I'd recommend that you just use Photoshop or Fireworks and do it yourself. It's not that hard to do, the investment is worth the price, and you can do more with it than just make eCovers.

That site is completely nuts. I just found this software as well -- downloaded it and it looks to do what I need, although I have not tried it yet.

It is donation-ware, and (thank heavens) has no crazy spammish marketing gimmicks.

I will probably try this and then go off to Photoshop if it is not successful.

Ah yes, that's the one I was thinking of. I think it was featured in the Lockergnome Windows Daily newsletter a few months back.

Just use Photoshop or Pain Shop Pro.
All it really is - a dropshadow over two flat 2d faces with perspective distort applied.

Personally I would use the FREEWARE POV-Ray raytracer. If you ask on the forum you could probably find someone that would create a macro for you so all you have to provide are the images.

I may take a look at this on the weekend.
