Default Bug in Pocket IE 2003

Hi all,

I'm having some problems with Pocket IE in 2003... If I have a web page with a link to http://site.com/info.cfm?detail=true&part=front, Pocket IE translates it to http://site.com/info.cfm?detail=true∂=front. Notice the ∂...

Doing a google on ∂ returns a number of hits regarding '∂' or 'nabla' as it is called, but in order to display it, it usually requires a ; at the end.

If I tap in the address directly, it works fine, but when you click on a link with '∂' in it, it converts it to the ∂. ACK! I've checked ρ and ε and they also get erroneously converted.

Where do I go to file this so that it gets FIXED?

Try it out for yourself at http://vetpda.ucdavis.edu/nabla.htm
It works fine on the desktop (has the correct query parameters), but is broken on the PDA.

I notice it in both links, and the URLs look identical to me. I'm using Mozilla 1.4.

Actually, the semi-colon is only required as an entity terminator if the succeeding character is not an equals sign or white space. Browser implementations vary, but PIE is behaving like it should. Your best long-term solution would be to change the name of your query string param to something other than "part".

Yeah, that's probably what we'll end up doing, but it's rather annoying. No other browser behaves this way... desktop(Moz, Opera, IE) or PDA (PIE 2000,2002, Opera, Netfront)

Grrr

Which version of IE. I see that behavior under 6.0

6.0.02800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1366

Just to make sure I clarify... The problem is that the PDA IS translating it to the ∂ character...

As I said, I'm using Mozilla, and I saw the delta in both URLs that you posted. Either you pasted incorrectly, the board system translated the lines so that both had deltas, or Mozilla translates them, too.

Pony...

Sorry, I didn't understand the problem you were having. Checking it with Moz, I can now see the problem.

the query string should be ?detail=true&par^t=front

the ^ is in there to stop moz from translating...
