Default Troubles Playing WMA files

My Pocket WMP will not play WMA files that I have loaded onto my PPC. It either skips over them in my playlist(s) or gives me the following error msg:
Window Media Player cannot find the file. You may not be connected to the network, the file may have moved, or you may have entered an incorrect file name or path.

I have gotten this error in the past and have circumvented it by just playing MP3 formated files. These files are lectures, and I do not want to take up unnecessary space by converting them to MP3 files.

Thanks in advance for your help.

While this is no direct solution, you could just put them in low-bitrate MP3 files matching the bitrate of your WMA files. For lectures, you don't need a high quality MP3, so 64kbps or even 32 or lower would work. You never mentioned the bitrate of your WMA files, but I assume they're not lower than 32.

Also, make sure you're playing from Local Content and not a Playlist, as the Playlist may not have been updated when you moved a file around.
