Not sure if this is different from the nREACH news on putting movies on your PDA we told you about a few days ago. Regardless, you will get to see this in action.

"Watching movies on your laptop on planes is a thing of the past. These days are all about watching movies on PDAs. Pocket PC Films signed a deal last month with Lions Gate Films to put movies on handhelds. Pocket PC Films has also worked out a deal with Mazingo to bring television classics such as "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "The Beverly Hillbillies" to handhelds as well."

The Mazingo link doesn't really have anything specific about this, but we're told there will be a detailed press release this Thursday. We'll post it as soon as we get it.

Why stop there? Why not movies on your wristwatch. Really, the experience of seeing Star Wars on a 1x3 inch screeen (letterbox version) just doesn't do it for me. Maybe if I made a head mounted holder that held the PDA 5" from my face. No wait, two PDA's for 3D. Hmm, a product idea is coming to me

Revolutionary things are rarely accomplished in one giant steps - instead, they're accomplished in many tiny ones, and it's the big final one that gets all the press. :-) So perhaps in five years this will be more feasable than you imagine.

Which? The wrist thing or the 3D? both are easily possible now. I had a Seiko wristwatch TV 20 years ago. Concept was that the reciever was about the size of a small transistor radio (remember those?) and there was a small cable that ran to the watch which acted as the display. The head mounted displays could easily do 3D since I believe they have independent screens for each eye. Anyone tried using a ColorGraphics Voyager or Margi with one of these things yet?

I wasn't commenting on the possibility, for me it was more of a 'why?'. And I understand I am not everyone, but I don't even like DVDs on my 19" monitor. Give me a big screen (virtual or otherwise )
