Well, now I'm exposed as to how big a fan I am. Even though I didn't watch past the third episode or so, I did tune in for the season finale, just to see if I had been too hasty. I know the story line you're talking about. The thing that struck me about the season finale was not the mystry of the plot, but the sheer unadulterated weakness of Capt. Archer in the face of adversity. True, they said they wanted to do things different on this series, but do you really think that in the future they will not have better tests to see if someone has the stones to capt the only star ship around? It wasn't until future guy showed up and started spilling the beans that Archer found he had the will to fight. Okay, okay, I know this post seems like it belongs on some sci-fi board, where the arguments for and against would go on and on and on and on ........

Oh well, I like PDAs, and I love sci-fi so to have a thread on this site that deal with the twin pillars of my interest has got me waxing eloquent.

The funny thing about the theme song is on the first night of Enterprise, I was waiting for the credit music to play and when the music started, I thought, oh cool!, NASA is sponsoring Enterprise, cause they've snuck in a commercial before they show the opening credits. When it dawned on me that these were the opening credits and the music I was hearing was for a ST product, if I was insane enough, I would literally have pulled out my own hair.
Now for the really evil thing about the theme music. After the second week, when I was still reeling in disbelief at the choice of music, I found that on the following thursday morning I counldn't stop singing the song :!: :evil: I hate the song, but it is so catchy that I couldn't get it out of my head, even now as I type this (dam it!!), I'm humming the tune. Evil :twisted:

Eww. :wink: I think they should have kept "Wherever you will go" by The Calling if they wanted to break away from the orchestral stuff. That song was what made the trailer so cool - seeing Star Trek set to Rock N' Roll? How sweet is THAT?!?

(BTW, the album by The Calling is really quite excellent)

I have always been proud to say that I watched evey single TNG episode. I loved the series.

Despite my non-enthousiasm for TNG I too watched every episode.. most of them like three times already. But.. I just don't *like* TNG.. Very strange, I know. It's just too Political Correct for me. Too huggy-touchy-feely. I mean.. they even have a friggin whiny counsellor!

Then when DS9 showed up, I watched it out of respect for "Mr Spencer for Hire": Avery Brooks.

I like Avery Brooks on the other hand. Especially the "late" version; the bald-with-beard-version.. He's just one tough dude. Strutting around with a phaser rifle like he owns the entire universe, go out and kick some ass f. everyone. I *like* DS9. [except the huggy touchy feely stuff]

Yeah, I liked that song, too. I had it on my iPAQ until this weekend. I wouldn't have minded if they kept that.

To maybe stir up more controversy, I also like the new opening video. :-)
