 I hear the might be offing Data in this movie. That Brent. (The actor) Demanded it.
With all due respect to star trek history Rick "the moron" Berman has done a wonderful job of flushing the entire franchise down the toilet.
I personally have liked the Next Gen movies more then the original (With the exception of II, and IV) The cast seems to have more "fun" with each other vs the original cast. Something that shows through on the screen and does make a difference in how the story flows.
As for the series. Next Gen was my first and best loved of the series.
The original series has its charm but the acting is almost unbearable. Esp from Shatner. Kirk must have done some serious upper body strength training. I was always impressed how he could take out anyone with a single Karate chop. Bam.....down he goes. Wish I could do that.
Never could get into DS9. A space station?!?! What the heck where they thinking?!?!!?? Voyager again had its charm. But lacked substance. If 7 ‘o 9 didn’t show up in that oh so tight ….. *coughs* anyways if she didn’t show up the show would have gone under way before season 7.
Enterprise. I started off thinking this is blasphemy. Flying in the face of what Gene wanted for the future. Next Gen was a good blueprint of how Gene saw the future. No poverty. War a distant memory. Then what happens. DS9 shows up blasts the crap out of that idea. Voyager stayed on track with gene’s vision of Star Trek. Then I hear about Enterprise. How its going to be grittier. More down to earth. And thinking “well the other shoe dropped. Berman finally gave into Paramount,

the greedy bastards, and give them the show they wanted not what Gene would have wanted. But I watched and dang it if I don’t like Enterprise A LOT. 8O The previous series always took at least 3 season to find their groove. Enterprise already has a nice beat just starting out.
I do think the series is starting to be played out though. The need to take it into new directions. Back when there was little to NO info on Enterprise. I saw a post on a discussion board theorizing that the show might take an Outer Limits approach to the series. Where each week a new crew. A new situation. A new location. Obviously that didn't happen. But its a good idea nonetheless.
