Default An Idiots guide to Windows media player on the MPx200

[b] I don't wanna sound like an idiot but without instructions for most of my phones content thats what i feel like!!

I've managed to put music onto the phone by using my SD Card fair enough and having read the other post on this forum I managed to figure out how to put video on. Thats where the good times end.

To get video footage on i had to encode from AVI to WMV but its very jerky, sound is good and quality is ok but play back isn't great.

If I was to put a movie onto an SD how would I go about doing that without it being a massive file, someone else where said they managed to get the matrix to 150mb and good quality.

I have a few more questions but I'll hold fire with those for the minute, thanks in advance to anyone who offers advice

cheers

Wez

Ok, I've been trying to find a good solution for you for the past 30 minutes, but I can't figure out how to import custom encoding profiles (anyone know)?

So here's the other option:

http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/in...?topic_id=4751

1) Download and install the Winter Fun Pack
2) Start up Windows Media Movie 2.0
3) import your video
4) Do a Save to my Computer and select a custom profile - you should see the Smartphone 2002 and 2003 options listed
5) Render, and you're done :-)

I don't think video on a Smartphone will be all that cool until we get a true full-screen mode and landscape support.

Let me know how it goes!

The post you were referring to was from me.
http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/fo...pic.php?t=3849

I was not creating a WPV file which was hard to decipher from that post. It was a MPG file created using the programs listed in the post referenced above.

All of the programs listed in the referenced post above are FREE including the Smartphone program that I used to view the MPG files on the phone...PocketTV which can be found at http://www.pockettv.com

This program will allow you to view the movied landscaped on the phone and the website also has a pretty good HOW TO guide on how the whole process works.

It takes a long time to rip a movie and re-encode it so be prepared...at least a 4 hour process.

There is also a how to guide located here
http://www.pockettv.com/encoding.html

I also remember template downloads located somewhere with predefined settings for pocketpcs and smartphones but I cant remember where they are.
I have them but there is no way to attach them here on this site. Email me if you want them at ncornaglia@comcast.net
