I did too but somehow that info got lost. I uninstalled it frustrated with the coinduit sync. Pretty intrusive popping the app up IMHO.

Default Avantgo needs to find its niche

THey were first and that's great. Then came Mazingo with multimedia channels, ability to sync to cf card, etc. Avantgo needs to either compete directly or find another niche. Being able to sync more info is great but without being able to do it on a storage card, it's not that useful. I use Avantgo only for channels that I want to sync to my device like local news. Since Avantgo doesn't support multimedia, thier pages don't take up much room. While that's been thier drawback since Mazingo was introduced, I think it can be their selling point, especially to individual users as opposed to enterprise. THat way I can read my news even when I leave my cf card with all my radio broadcasts and video, in the card reader by mistake. I use Mazingo for those Multimedia tv and radio that I need to sync to cf card due to space issues. Both Avantgo and Mazingo have thier strengths.

You can tell the Mazingo conduit to not pop up, if that's what you're asking? I use both, I may also sign up for the premium AvantGo if it's not too slooow... ($15/yr is definitely impulse buy)

BTW, the CNet News.com Mazingo channel seems to have stopped updating since July 30th (Bill confirmed that they may have discontinued it), but someone on Brighthand told me it's still updating just fine on AvantGo. Why would CNet refuse payment from Mazingo (especially since it's a premium channel) but wants to continue paying AvantGo I didn't even know CNet could distinguish access from either service...

You can use Tweaks 2k2 to put Avantgo data on a storage card. Works great for me. It's only $5 USD also.

Default Custom Channel?

8MB is nothing...
The only thing that Avantgo was better than Mazingo is its control over Custom Channel which we can opt for not including pictures and size limit.
Can anyone inform me whether this sevice allow us to fully use the custom channle again?

Lucky? No, you secret some sort of pheremone that makes the Pocket PC behave - I've never had Mobile Favorites work in a stable fashion for me in 2+ years. They're simply satanic.

wow, i wish i was able to call every web page that gets a request an application.

mazingo is cool, avantgo is built in, if they supported just a couple file types that would so rock...that said, most of the clients that i'm talking to now have mazingo on their radar, so it might not matter.

i would be great for mazingo to publish some rough subsriber #'s, that way i could sell it easier, i need to mail those folks, maybe this will remind me.

cheers,
pt

Default Mazingo - Is everything worthwhile premium?

It seems as if all of the "good stuff" on Mazingo is premium. Is this true? If so, do you all feel it's worth the subscription? Thx.

I subcribe to WSJ online and was wondering if there is a way to get all of the day's articles on Avantgo? Or if that can be done using other means, short of them being mobile favorites. Thx

Mazingo is great ... for getting a hold of real mobile URL's for my Mobile Favorites ... muhuhahahaha.

Seriously though, I've installed Mazingo a number of times and was just not impressed with the speed of both the sync and rendering. I guess I should have known improvements were in order when a new version came out every few weeks for about 6 months.
