But it was Adam Curry who helped coin the term and really made the technology take off.

Please tell me you're not going to do this every time we post one of these. 8O

It's interesting that nowadays, any "pod"-inclusive term leads to a new wave of iconic pop culture and what not.

No, I won't do this every time you post one of these.

Unless I'm interested in the subject.

Edited to add: Hopefully you won't do to many of these, at least without a transcript.

You're killing me here man. How can you possibly be so unclear on the concept when so many people have explained it to you, over and over? Look, podcasts/blogcasts/thoughtcasts/whatever generally do NOT get transcribed because it would just take too much effort, and it completely defeats the purpose. If you don't want to listen to them, that's 100% ok - some will, some won't. And it's not like we're publishing less news, or moving to an all-audio format or anything. This is just something Ed is doing for fun, and the more you complain about it, the less fun it is for all of us. ;-)

Let me clear this up for you.

1. There is no transcript.
2. There are often no notes. I left them on the printer, and the notes were basically what I copied and pasted into the original post - I just added links.
3. Therefore, it is almost TOTALLY off the top of my head.

Therefore, unless you want to transcribe it yourself, there will be no transcript. That is how these things work.

In case I wasn't clear, approximately 100% of my future ThoughtCasts will be transcript free.

Young man, do NOT lecture me on life and what to expect out of it. I would say that after almost 50 years I have a fair idea of what I can and cannot expect out of life.

There are hundreds of places to get the same, timely information as to be found here.

Pocketpcthoughts, it was fun will it lasted.

Good luck, Jason.

Sorry to see you go Busdriver. Pocket PC Thoughts isn't changing anything. Always plan to have the same timely information as before. This is just a new added feature and it has a certain format. Sorry if you feel the addition of that somehow detracts from our existing and continuing offerings to the point the site is now less that it previously was for you.

This is really discouraging. I didn't intend anything I said to be a complaint, and I don't think Busdriver did either. There were so many angry responses that I reread my posts and busdriver's several times to see what could have caused all that animosity, but I just can't see it.

I only saw one angry response, and it wasn't by a PPCT admin or editor. No one that I know took your response as a complaint. You don't like podcasts is what I took from it. No problem. I would have no use for them either if it wasn't for my longish commute each day.
