Default pockethosts

You need to use something like pockethosts to map your computer name (at home) to your dyndns address.

Default static IP

Best is to get a static IP address I am afraid.

Well, you can save as .doc within pocket word Tools -> Save As...

...ActiveSync via a VPN tunnel to your home PC...The VPN tunnel is encrypted, safe and secure. I do that with my iPAQ 3835 and an XP Pro desktop.

If your primary motivation is printing then check out this free software:
hp mobile printing for pocket PCs
I used it a few times, but have uninstalled it because my usage did not warrant it, but it might be just the ticket for you.
