I have recently bought a CF wifi card for my Ipaq, and i have set up networking and internet connection from my adhoc usb wifi adaptor, but i am having problems using activesync.

When i load up activesync on my ppc (ipaq 3850) and hit the sync button, almost imediatly my destop pc fires up activsync and changes the name to "Guest" and changes status to "connected", whilst the ipaq displays its "connecting"

If i place the ipaq in the cradle, activesync works fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure you have setup your connection manager to say : my network card is connected to 'Work' ? Thats the main issue... it acts as profiling... while those stupid applications keep enforcing to work on certain profile only....

Read the whole thread because it has information concerning ad-hoc ActiveSync and multi-homed desktops, which seem/can cause this Guest problem.

This is a very useful thread, thank you. I just got my Wifi ActiveSync to work, and it's awesome. Now all I need my cradle for is charging!!!
