Has anyone gotten ActiveSync to work over the Internet?

Would be nice to know what appointments have changed when out of the office.

I use Pocket Hosts to point to an external IP.

I opened up ports on the firewall

and even read about udp 1900.

I can get a 'connecting' message on both the desktop and pocketpc, but never a sync. Doing a remote sync on the LAN works perfectly.

Any help would be appretiated. I think this would be the coolest thing if it worked properly and would love to do it for a smartphone also.
