I recently acquired a Jornada 720, and I've tried almost all of my current PPC software on it, and most of them won't even install. Could you point me to some info on how the programs can be modified to work on HPC?

Installation: instead of using AS to transfer the cab file, which wouldn't work. You have to run the setup program on your desktop as you would for a normal PPC. The setup will drop a cab file into your activesync folder (alternately, open the executable with WinRAR -- it should work for most programs).

Then drag and drop the cab file manually into your Jornada and run it from the Jornada. Ignore the prompt that tells you that you're attempting to install into a different device than what's intended.

Tweaking: this requires elementary (very elementary) knowledge of using a hex editor, and a few modified DLLs. PM me if you need more information. Alternately, post here what programs you want to run on the Jornada and we can start from there.

I Work for Psion Teklogix, and before you start mentioning the 5mx or revos, that's Psion PLC.

Trying not to be biased, the CE devices are truly great products to use.

Looking forward to the future of CE.

I almost bought a STAMP tablet computer. 800x600 8 inches screen. At US$800, it appears to be better than the Win/XP based tablet PC and runs CE.NET
However, I've bought its earlier version at US$400 that run Win CE but have lots of compatibility problems and no longer support. So I didn't try its CE.NET version.
