Default Sound when SD card is inserted/removed

In the Palm and Sony world of PDA's, whenever a SD/MMC card or a MemoryStick is inserted into the device a sound is played as a confirmation. The same happens when you remove the memory card.

Is there something like this that can be enabled in the PPC world? I have the h6315 and I can't find anything that will do it.

I've got the HP iPAQ h6315 through T-Mobile, and I WISH it did it by default.

That's funny, because no Pocket PC I've used has ever done this. (Casio, Toshiba, Compaq/HP, ViewSonic, and Dell.) What kind do you have? The only sound my SD card makes is a soft click.

Neither have mine, and there is no setting I'm aware of to turn it on or off. Not sure if there is a tweak for that, but there is a program called Sounds Cool (sp?) that might have that feature.

I've never seen that before on any device. What kind of cool future Pocket PCs are you using?

All of my iPAQs made the insertion sound when using the sleeve for the CF Card (3650/3850/5555). Doesn't do it for the SD card though.

That should just be when attaching (or detaching) the sleeve itself, not when inserting a CF card into it. Honestly, though, if there were a sound when I inserted a card, I'd probably want to turn it off. I've never really understood the need for every tap, button, or whatever to generate a sound. If there's a problem or error, then it's okay to play a sound.

my current PPC is an Acer n10, it makes that "boot up sound" when you insert an SD or CF card (I couldnt find the actual wav file under \Windows so Im not sure of the exact name of the sound). It makes the same sound when I do a soft reset.

Maybe there is a hidden setting somewhere?

BTW IM pretty sure my old Casio did this too...although Im not 100% sure

I remember this feature on my old palm zire 71, I've now got a ipaq 2210 and wish it would do the same. I've gone through all the settings and have come to the conclusion that it is not an option on the ipaq.....
