Suddenly, my 3870 has stopped recognizing the SD slot. Have tried numerous soft resets, in/out of CF expansion pack, with/without SD card in slot, have tried two different cards.
Finally have tried a hard reset..still nothing.
I guess this is dead..anyone had the same problem?

Try opening File Explorer and go into the Windows directory. Copy HH_DM and paste it to the Windows>Startup directory as a shortcut and do a soft reset. That should do the trick.

thanks, but HH_DM is already in the Startup directory...anything else I can try?

If the HH_DM is there did you check to see if it is linked correctly by tapping the icon.
If it is okay then your only other recourse is to contact HP/Compaq about the issue.

It could also be a hardware issue. Check the contacts. Make sure they are clean (SD and PPC).

Sorry, that's all I could think of.

Thanks for the suggestions....I ended up contacting HP and using my Carepaq to swap it...got the replacement now..tho' I'm not convinced the backlight is working too well!! Oh well...could be swap no. 5 coming up!!!
