Default Palm -> Pocket PC = calendar/task question

Alright! My wife's 1910 just came, and we're getting her set up. One problem though, I'm hoping someone knows the "answer"!

The palm calendar allowed a "floating appointment" -- it would pop up on the day specified, and hang around each day until you pressed the checkbox saying it was done.. this would get annoying (IMHO) when they started "collecting" but whatever, she likes using them!
Are there any software apps that will do something like this? Any plug-ins for the calendar app? Will Pocket Informant do it? Their website is down for maintenance right now.

Any help would be appreciated! The temporary (and maybe permenant, with some user training ) solution is to use tasks and I downloaded a freeware app which displays tasks on the today screen, just like calendar items. Is there anything that integrates tasks with the calendar so you can look at the calendar view and see both?

THANKS!!

PI doesn't do floating tasks per se. In fact, no PPC PIM that I'm aware of does. But if I understand what you're trying to do, you can use PI to create an Undated Task, set it to show Undated Tasks in whichever Calendar view you wish (or all of them) and it would do the same thing wouldn't it?

Well, tAgenda does kinda combine Tasks and Calendar items, although the floating thingy will still be a Task. Not ideal, but maybe a step forward.

That's okay if it's still a task, she just wants this functionality: create some items that pop up on their specified day and stay "popped up" until I complete them.
I think tasks will be fine for that, and actually I think the taskplus program I downloaded will work just fine (it puts the task names on the today screen instead of just "2 active tasks")
But any other ideas, please post! Thanks!

Actually, now that I think about it, my wife does thir herself. She has three tasks that just follow her day in and day out. They show up in PI's task list (within the Calendar View), just below the tasks that are due today.

I'd say give it a whirl and see what she thinks.

Great! Thanks!

How about the obvious method of just hitting Snooze for a day until you can get the appointment done?

what on earth is floating appointment anyway? either you have appointment or you don't. This is in the same category as 'sort of pregnant'...

appointment: an arrangement to do something or meet someone at a particular time and place.

As a Palm user who just switched to PPC (got a new hp2210!) this is something I miss as well. It probably should be called a floating task, rather than a floating appt. to most accurate, but it was a feature I did use a lot. For instance:
I wanted a reminder on the 15th of every month to give my dog his flea/tick prevention stuff. I set up a "floating appt." in Palm that would appear on the 15th. If I forgot to give it to him that day, it would "float" to the next day, etc, etc. Once I finally gave my dog the medication, I would mark the appt. as finished, and it would stop floating to the next day. I suppose this sort of thing could be done as a "task," but the thing I don't like about tasks is that it's too easy to click "dismiss" and it will never remind you again.
Might sound silly to those who haven't used it, but I found it useful.
