Default Lost backup password

My friend owns a Toshiba Pocket PC. I do not know the model. He let the battery go dead. He wants to restore using a backup file he saved to the cd card on 02/15/2005. He doesn't remember protecting the backup file with a password, but when you try to restore it asks for a password. We have tried everything we know. Is there anyway to do this backup without the password. HElP

No, not really. If you password protect a backup file, chances are, it's using some pretty tight encryption. Nothing can really be done from an end-user perspective.
