Default IR sync with PPC 2002?

I recently upgraded to Pocket PC 2002. I would sync my iPaq with my laptop through my IR port, much, much easier. I can't find a way to do it in 2002... Why would Microsoft remove the IR sync support? Am I missing it?

You are missing it. I'm not the best at giving directions but here it goes-

1. On the desktop open ActiveSync. Under the file menu click on connection settings.
2. Under connection settings and under "Allow serial cable or infrared connection to this com port" change it from com1 to the infrared port.
3. Line up the infrared ports on the two devices. On the iPAQ open ActiveSync. Under the tools menu at the bottom there should be a "Connect via IR..." option, click it and it should connect.

Hope this helps!
