Default Ipaq hw6500 - Will it have software issues ?

I have heard that due to the screen size that only text based software will work with hw6500. Does anyone know if this is true ?

I'm not sure about this particular model, but the evidence we have to date suggests some programs do not easily move over to different screen orientations. We'll have to wait until the first usability reviews of this unit come out to know more.

I have read that dialog based apps should work fine, with a scroll bar on the side if they require the extra space. Full screen progs (like many games) won't work though. Not yet anyway. Hopefully more squared-screen devices will come out so it will get supported.

They need to be 480x480 though. 240x240 today doesn't cut it. The only devices with lower resolutions than that are the cheap Palms. The treo, which is a similar design to the HP has 320x320!

Send a message via MSN to Kowalski

i am expecting only a couple of existing applications will work fine on this device. is is not easy to work with different screen resolutions, and i am sure that most of the developers wont plan their software for square devices
