Go onto your PC, check the DNS address assignmed by your ISP. Change the DNS server on the Pocket PC to the address that your ISP uses, all should be well...

I changed the DNS server in Settings|Connections|Network Adapters|Wireless to the address my ISP states on its web page but when I use "http://www.brighthand.com" it still returns the "cannot be found" error. The IP address still works though but the images are all replaced with a red 'x'.

Is this the one and only place to set the DNS address on the IPAQ?

Some good news though....I can now synch wirelessly !!

You are running Windows 2000 correct? Open a CMD window, type "IPCONFIG /ALL", make sure the DNS server you were assigned by your ISP is correct on the Pocket PC. As far as the images in PIE goes, on the bottom of your screen, click on the little picture of a piece of paper with an "X" on it...

DNS issue isn't it.....!!

I ran the "Info" option on my IPAQ and the info returned for the Wireless adapter was:

IP address: 192.168.0.114
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1
DHCP server: 192.168.0.1

I did not enable "Dial on Demand" in the settings for "Internet Sharing" on my PC's dialup connection.

I am not running any thru a proxy server on my PC.

It feels pretty close guys....whats the next step?
Are you sharing your Dial-up connection? The above looks right if you are, In the properties for the wireless connection on your PC, the only thing defined should be the IP address, and the Subnet Address everything else should be blank. I think you might need to enable "Dial on Demand"

ICS "Internet Connection Sharing" if enabled, and this is what you want, is a DNS, and DHCP server.

For ICS Steve Cedrone is wrong. It will not work with the DNS server assign by your IPS on your PPC.

It happens on occasion...

Time to stop playin' around: see this Knowledge Base Article...

How to Configure a Pocket PC Device to Access the Internet Through Another Computer That Is Running ICS

1) On the Pocket PC device, tap the Start menu, and then tap Settings.
2) Tap the connections tab, and then tap Network.
3) Tap the name of the adapter that you want to use for the Internet connection.
4) Perform one of the following tasks:

To use an Internet Protocol (IP) address that is assigned by the computer running ICS, tap Use Server-Assigned IP Address.
-or-
To manually assign an IP address, tap Use Specific IP Address, and then type the IP address, the subnet mask, and the default gateway for the device.

ICS automatically assigns the computer that is running this functionality the IP address 192.168.0.1. This address is the default gateway for all other devices that connect to the Internet by using ICS. You may assign an IP address to your device that is between the range of 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.254. However, you must be careful not to assign an IP address that is being used by another device. Use the subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

5) Tap the Name Servers tab.

If you are obtaining an IP address automatically (for example, by using the DHCP service of the ICS computer), make sure all the boxes are blank. If you manually assigned an IP address, type 192.168.0.1 in both the Primary DNS box and the Primary WINS box.

6) Tap OK, and then tap OK.
HTH...
