That page shows the 1910 as being compatible, which seems odd becase the 1910 does not have an SDIO port, just SD/MMC. I sent an email to expansys about that.
At the top of that page it also says "iPAQ 38XX and 39XX devices are typically SD memory capable only, not SDIO." Which was true-- BUT HP came out with a new flash rom that allows those models to use SDIO now. Pocket PC 2002 just didnt have built in support for SDIO or somthing. So the hardware does support it on those models, just needed the firmware.
So here is my question. Are the 38xx and 39xx SD Slots similar (hardware wise) to the one on the 1910? I also emailed HP about this.
If they are similar, then I can expect HP to release a rom update for SDIO.
Ive been reading this board for a few days, seems like a helpfull place. I plan on starting developing on this platform soon but most of the projects I will be working with need wireless connectivity.
Konsole, the 1910 might be able to support SDIO with a future driver/ROM update, but there has been no guarantees on this. At this time, you should assume it doesn't have SDIO, like the 38xx units. The 39xx units now have full SDIO support, including SDIO Now!, with a ROM update.

A ROM Update was released for the HP397x iPAQ that allows it to use SDIO devices. Will a similar ROM be available for the HP1910 iPAQ? Is it possible hardware wise for the 1910 to use SDIO?

If this is indeed true, then WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow what a surprise! Thanks for the 411 Konsole. Despite the lacking power and expandibility, I bought the ipaq 1910 because it is just about the only PPC that fits in my pocket comfortably but I guess with the 300mhz overclock and upcomming SDIO, the 1910 will indeed "KICK-ASS!!" Cheers!
Let's hope for the best. But... I'd still keep a healthy sense of skepticism about it. It took forever for HP to admit that the 38xx series had only 1-bit memory SD and not 4-bit SD or SDIO, for example.
But hey, if they can do it, it would be stupid not to - that would be a major improvement.

Janak, do you mean that the 1910 model has only 1 bit memory sd ? does this mean that a release of a SDIO ROM update is not possible on this machine ? Just curious to see if anyone has tried the 397xx rom update on a 1910 and what is the result ...

No, that's not what I mean. My point is that it took HP forever to admit what the slot was and wasn't capable of, and it may be some time before they admit that the 1910 is (or isn't) truly SDIO capable.
Oh, and don't even remotely attempt to install the 3970 ROM update on a 1910. It's a different size ROM and a completely different unit. The update program should stop immediately, but if it doesn't, you could damage your unit.
