Default HP5450 and T68i

Want to use the PPC Monkey Messenger software on my 5450 for SMS in/out via my T68i. But it is proving tedious to use.

I have successfully paired the devices and configured the Monkey Messenger software to use BT serial Com8:

When I send or recieve an SMS I have to go through the Bluetooth console select the phone, the console scans the phone for available ports. It finds serial 1 and serial 2. I then have to select serial 1.

Previously using my 3870 I setup the partnership, connected to serial device. and away i went. no selecting the phone and port each time i wanted to send an SMS.

Have i setup the 5450 incorrectly? missing something?
I understood that the 5450 was better at bluetooth than previous models. Not for me currently

TIA

Gary

Normally, you need to select BTC1 as the port.

I use "BTC1: Buetooth Port 1:" with SimpleSms and works like a charm, no need to select the ports and thing s each time.

my guess is that PPC Monkey Messenger does not support this or it dies not recognize the 5450 or something.

One thing that might help you is that to use "BTC1: Buetooth Port 1:" you need to create any dial-up connection on you device, i know this sound wird but this is the case, if you dont create one "BTC1: Buetooth Port 1:" will not work.
