I just got a hp 2200 for my birthday, and i have been looking at sd and cf cards. I was wondering how fast of a card I should get. Will 4x be fine for mp3s and videos, or will the HP support an 80x cf card? And will I be able to tell the diference?

I have a 2215 running a 32x 256mb SD card, and a straight 512mb CF card. I don't notice any significant difference in access or application running on either.

The SD card holds music, the CF card holds games, apps, and backup.

I have two SD cards, one high speed (for my camera) and one standard (for my H2210, and i cant tell the differance in the PPC (i can in the camera)

I use Pocket Mechanic to test the read/write speeds of the cards. According to Pocket Mechanic, my 256 mb SD card reads at 0.9 MB/s, my 256 CF card reads at 0.67 MB/s, while iPaq file store reads at 1.25 MB/s.

No problem playing MP3s or videos on either SD or CF, if I were to buy a new memory card I'd just buy the biggest.

You can safely buy the cheapest card. There is not much point in getting a hi-end expensive card if you only want to use it in a PDA and want only infrequently write to it in a desktop card reader. (More expensive/faster cards can be 2-3 times faster written in a USB2 desktop card reader. This will be of little importance to you, however, if you don't plan to put hundreds of Megabytes on your card each day.)

cheapest I've seen around here is 16 MB, 8 MBs they're giving away : )
