I am looking into getting a toshiba e750, which would be my first pocket pc.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use an external DVD drive with a pocket pc operating system? I understand there is an expansion pack that can be attached to ad a USB port and projector plug in. I really like the Targus slim exteranl DVD rom, but it looks like it takes two USB ports.
Any insight on whether there is a specific DVD rom drive that will work or if there is an expansion kit that has more than one USB inlet.

Hi, freekevin7, welcome to PPCT!

I'm afraid what you're asking for is not possible (unless you want to write the driver yourself ). The USB host function can only handle mass storage devices using FAT/FAT16/FAT32 formats, not CDFS or NTFS. That basically rules out the use of CD/DVD drives.

although there is not real way to do this, i will try it out on my e750, but if u r going to carry around a dvd drve, why not just get a usb drive. smaller, more room for data, no other things to carry, dvds would be needed. its just more simplier/cheaper.
