DTMF Tones w/out the phone interface

Default DTMF Tones w/out the phone interface
Can I create an application that makes the DTMF tones of dialing a number... but it doesn't dial a number?

I'll put it another way: Since the i700 PPC has the phone interface on screen... how do I make the DTMF tones while in another application?

I ask because some systems such as sound and lighting can be controlled through RF of DTMF tones...
