Hey guys- I have the option of getting a 3835 or a 3955. Is the 3955 worth it? Since they are alike, I not quite sure what to get. the 3835 is cheeper, but I can get the 3955 for $60 more. Any feedback would be appriciated. Thanks!

I have a 3955 and I think it is worth it. The screen alone makes it worth the extra money.

I would also have to say bite the bullet and spend the $60. You'll be getting the second most recend iteration of the iPaq technology and thereby be more likely to take advantage of future OS updates - i.e. the releas of the next Pocket PC operating system.

The SCREEN! Nevo remote. Larger File Store. Better battery life. Vastly improved iPaqBackup. Better resale value. Did I mention the SCREEN!

not to mention that 3955 is more efficient in using it's batterry energy....

I have a 3955 and I also agree with all of the above posts, with a couple of additions:

1. The SD slot is full SDIO vs. the 38xx which won't support any SDIO cards. The 3955's SD slot also runs MUCH faster than the 3835's.

2. The 3955 is the most stable Pocket PC I've ever owned.

3. There has been more than one complaint about the lack of optimization for X-scale devices, but Truetype looks MUCH better on the 3955 than the 3835 and the 3955 is a very solid performer (esp. for games :P )

4. The contrast on the 3835 screen is NOT adjustable, and makes several games/apps unusable. The 3955 screen is simply a show stopper. It's one of the best screens out there, bar none.

All in all, I'd definitely get the 3955. I've got one and it's a fabulous PDA!

Hey guys thanks! I didn't know the 3955 had SDIO. Anyways, I jumped in and bought the 3955 today! It's screen is really beyond belief and I am very satisfied and amazed! Thanks again for helping me decide.

The 3800 series is well-known to be very unstable, go with the 3955, I have one and it works better than any other Pocket PC I have ever owned. I've had the Jornada 525, 548, 568, and now this one.
