Default 3850 ipaq Internet Problems

I guess this one may be an old chestnut guys...but humour me please!

I've been using my 3850 and a GPRS mobile phone to access the Web for a couple of years with no real problems. The other week I upgraded my phone (to a Sony Ericsson T610). Now I can get an Internet connection but cannot download anything as the connection is constantly timed-out. I've checked the phone set-up and the ipaq settings and everything looks fine & dandy.

Has anyone any idea what the problem might be and how I can fix it please?
