Gotta agree with many other posters here. There is a fair difference between the 4150 and the 2210. I'm a 2210 owner but have had quite a lot of time with the 4150.

I've not switched to the 4150, despite long thinking about it, because of my investment (I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't use the word investment, but I digress) in CF (camera, WiFi and VGA).

If I was buying a PPC with no legacy devices to consider then I'd buy the 4150. It's got a nice screen, built in WiFi with excellent range, speedy performance and nice form factor.

I'm guessing that your Best Buy sales person had no 4150 in stock, lots of 2210 and was chasing a commission.

I have not had any experience with the Hp4155 but according to the Hp website the only difference I can see other than form factor.. is the Hp4155 has built-in wifi, slightly larger battery... and the Hp2210 has the CF slot...

I for one chose the CF slot... I want to have the additional SD slot available to me when using any peripherals...

But as I have said again and again... "IF" I were looking for a unit today... my starting point would be the Toshiba E800/E805 series... it has all the things mentioned above and a much larger battery... and more... a dedicated 2mb ATI video card... with VGA...

I am currently use a Hp2210 and am happy with the unit.. less the alarm issue... but the unit showing all the promise is the Toshiba...

FYI - they don't get commission... Though I think they also get fired if their sales are too low.

Default Apples and Oranges

the 2200 and 4150 are totally different and targetted for different customers. let just agree that they are both greath devices and when the models come out with VGA and cameras we hopefully will have moved on. count yourselves lucky, 10 years ago you would be using cassiepias with 4mb ram and black and white.

Default Best Buy

Best Buy wins the prize when it comes to sleaze, I wouldn't believe anything they say. They think we (consumers) are complete idiots. For example, at the moment, they've got a big promotion going on, offering instant $50 rebates on all their PDAs. Problem is, of the 16 PDAs they generally stock, 13 are sold out, including most models of the IPAQ.

IMO too many people buy their gift cards, and are thereby locked into buying from them. Don't.

Caveat emptor, friends.

Kati you are right, they are not on commission, but of course like most in sales they are rated by how well they do in the "numbers game."
Examples of that are their service plan, what they were to budget for the day, the best buy credit card, etc.

The 41xx and the 22xx may have similarities, but when it comes to convenience in size, I think the 41xx has the advantage. I would only use the cf slot on a 22xx for wi fi, but with the 41xx having wi fi built in, then I do not care about having the slot. I would only need extra memory so the sd slot would be enough for me.

Sorry, my mistake. We don't have Best Buy in my part of the world. I always buy my PPCs either direct from the OEM or from a PDA specialist store.

hey i didnt say that these devices are identical!!!
i know that 4155 has a better form factor but CF and CIR forced me to a 2215 instead of 4155.
we all have 50 megs of internal storage. you must have at least 10-15 megs of free ram both for program and storage in order the device to run properly, so i install some programs to my SD card, especially the big ones dictionarys and roms. and never pull the card off from device since i have an extra slot for another memory or my wifi or whatever i might have in the future.
and for some people nevo wouldnt be so valuable but i use it heavly.

so you cant say that 4155 is far better than 2155. both are good devices. thats all!

i'm happy with my 2215 and i wouldn't change to 4155 even for free!!!

Default Update

I started this string, so thought I would update. I had no other investment in my 2210 device except for the device. So, to get wi-fi would have been another $50-$60 for card. I managed to sell my 2210 to a friend for $300. I took Best Buy's price of $382 last week for the 4155 to CompUSA, got a price match and bought the 4155. I wanted the wi-fi built in and I liked the smaller size. With the good price on the 4155 (I also had purchesed my 2210 at 10% off, for $360), I was able to make minimal investment to change devices. I will say, there are some things I like a little better about the 2210, and some I like better about the 4155. All in all I am happy with the change. Form factor won out for me.

Is another difference that only the 2210 can use the 3600 mAh extended battery? The 4150 can't use that battery, right?
