Default i600 web browsing problem?maybe?

When ever i go online using the i600 for no matter what length of time when i am done it seems that even though i shut off the browser and exit online, when i go back to the regular phone functions or try to play solitare or any game the phone still connects to its online service(i see the two arrows on top of the signal strength indicator). And when i press end it will stop for a few minuets and then come back. It seems i have to shut off the phone and then back on for this to stop it. Is there a problem with my phone or is this normal and can anything be done in the settings to stop it.

thank you

I guessing one of the following is happening...

1. Highest probability: Email Sync is taking place. The new Verizon Wireless Sync starts a data session whenever there is a new email in your inbox.
2. MSN Messenger is running.
3. You have some application like, I have Fizz Portfolio, which gets stock quotes. There are apps that get weather etc.

Otherwise haven't heard of any specific i600 issues with persistent data connection.

That is just a feature of the new OS, dormant data sessions, once you connect to the internet your phone will stay connected until you disconnect it or it times out.

You can change the time-out settings so that after some many minutes of no activity it will disconnect.

I have noticed the same behavior as well.

So the i600 with the WM2003 upgrade starts data session on its own? I thought jojochef meant that inspite of manually terminating the data session, the session restarts?

:?

Ive seen it happen after a manual mail sync. First it doesnt end after the sync is complete, the connection stays open. After pressing the stop button it closes. I've picked up the phone a few minutes later it has reconnected to network by itself.

I hope there isn't too much chatter. I mean the number of packets that it sends out after opening the data session is negilible and that it would not cause any drastic increase in the monthly data download size.
