Default Comcast Email Sync

Has anyone successfully set their email to send/receive with comcast (comcast.net)? I have tried every combination during set-up I can think of, and I get send errors all the time. (I can recieve emails, but not send them.) Verizon is no help and Comcast says "we do not support the i600 device" Any experiences or help would be appreciated.

Couple of pointers:

- Have you enabled the "Server Requires Authentication" option in the Inbox->Menu->Options->Sending. Some SMTP servers require authentication before they can accept emails.

- Some SMTP mail servers accept emails from only known IP addresses or a known range or subnet. To prevent spammers from sending emails, the Comcast server maybe configured to accept emails that are being sent from a machine on the Comcast network. When you try to send email from the phone, the address will be different than the Comcast network, hence the email send request gets rejected.

I've tried both, in every combination with the other variables but no luck. When I ask Comcast about the external machine issue, all I get is " we don't support that phone", i.e., they have no idea what a smartphone is. They are almost as ignorant as Verizon tech reps.

I sucessfully use it everyday as it is my main email account. I can send and receive mail with no problems using an SPV e200 smartphone under AT&T. I was also able to use it with my MPx200, i600, SPV100 and SPV.

incoming mailserver: pop.comcast.net
outgoing: smtp.comcast.net
Outgoing server requires authentication (checked)

I am on the east coast. I remember someone saying before that the west coast networks may be different.

Tried those settings. Didn't work. My settings per Comcast should be

mail.comcast.net
smtp.comcast.net

and no authentication.

Default One more thing

Hey Lurch651,

Did you choose "The Internet" for the Network?

I have Comcast here on the East Coast (South Central Massachusetts) and it works just fine for me!
