I have experienced the Sleep To Death problem twice so far, and was wondering if this 0170 ROM update claims to fix it?
I had put the M600 through a lot of testing before the ROM update and I came to the conclusion that it was the SD card causing the "sleep to death" problem. After running the M600 for two weeks without an SD card, I no longer experienced the issue (but to consider that a fix is silly).
So, without hesitation, I installed the 0170 ROM update to see if the bug had been fixed. Now, I've only been running it for a day, so it's still a little early to comment on the issue. But so far, things are looking good, so you just might want to try this ROM update and see how things turn out on your end. Of course, if I experience the problem again, I'll post back here to let you know.

Well, that's good to hear. I am all set to install the ROM update, but the exe file fails to startup because of "Error reading setup initialization file"
Have downloaded from work, home, and the same result every time. It would appear the file on the eten.ch site is corrupted in some way?

Hmm, that's odd. Which browser did you use to access the update.eten.ch site? I pulled the file in Internet Explorer without any problems. An alternate solution would be to use a dedicated FTP application to access ftp://62.2.75.173/

I got it with IE as well. It might be a firewall issue, I am going to try again from home tonight. I contacted eten, let's see what they come back with.
The file on the ftp site had a glitch, eten fixed it same day and I was able to update the ROM no problem. Left it on the battery overnight, and no sleep to death, so far so good.
I have to say I like the phone more and more, and can forgive the lack of IR.

For the first night, I had no problems. Today, I went on a day-long rural trip and experienced the "sleep to death" issue twice. For now, I've decided to run my device without an SD card until Microsoft/E-TEN fix the issue.

Just discovered the wonderful world of Outlook 2003, Activesync 4.1 and error 85010014. Can't believe that Microsoft can put this kind of rubbish on the market.

Well, before you give up, you may find this to be of help. There can often be desktop issues that trigger that error (so, if you're saying the combination of Outlook and AS is rubbish, then maybe ):
Quote:
"...If you are seeing the error 85010014 (a general error) then try uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook. The error in ActiveSync is actually from the Outlook APIs. You will need to reconfigure Outlook unless you backup your settings...."
A repair of Outlook may also work and be a bit easier.

Hmm. Is it possible there's an app you installed that's messing with WM5's "sleeping"?

Maybe, maybe not. I had the same application setup before and after the ROM update, and removal of the SD card seemed to fix the problem. But because of that, it could very well be an application that's causing this break in stability, and if it's card-related, it could be the Pocket Plus Today plug-in (which displays card status). I'll try disabling it for a few days and see if the problem is fixed.
