Default imate sp5m----how to turn on speaker phone

I loved the review on the imate sp5m, very thorough, but, i want to know for sure how to activate the speaker phone function, i hate how on my current phone i have to turn the speaker on during a call which means holding the phone away from my mouth and looking at it to manually activate the speaker. The author of the article on sp5m mentioned a side button that had something to do with the speaker, is that for the volume of the speaaker or activating the speaker?

The button on the side of the phone is the volume. It has nothing to do with Speakerphone. All you have to do to place your handset in speakerphone mode is press and hold the green dial key for a couple seconds. If I'm using speakerphone, I dial the number, press the call button, and then press and hold the call button again. It changes to speakerphone quickly, and long before anyone answers.

Is it just me or is reading these reviews easier when you go into the discussion thread of the review and just read it on one page instead of 6+?

Depends on your style. I like the individual pages. It allows me to jump away and take care of something else and when I get back, it's easy to find where I left off. But that's just me. I'm sure everyone likes it in their own way.

Hi Mike,

Can you tell us which bluetooth profiles are available on this device?

Specifically, does it have the AD2P profile (high quality stereo)?

Thanks,

Dan.

AD2P is part of AKU2 which also contains MSFP. Currently, no phone has this on it. Hopefully we will see it soon.

Thanks for the reply Mike!

Any idea which device re-seller will make the AKU2 release available first?

Dan.

Unfortunately no. The code was RTM'ed (released to manufacturer) back in October of 2005. All we know is that they have it in their hands and hopefully they are testing and working on plans to release it.
