I have the same problem. this did not happen with the 2.x versions. I narrowed it down to when I has direct push enabled. So it happens with only the data connection up? or do you have the exchange sync on?

I have DeLorme for the handheld. It is the sh*ttyest piece of GPS software ever invented. AVOID DELORME LIKE AN STD! Complete waste of cash! :evil:

Posted a couple of questions to iNav support and learned the following

Activesync is _not_ required... maps can be transferred by card reader.

Map (state) sizes are posted at http://www.inavcorp.com/products/iguidance21_map.html

States cannot be subdivided but they can be combined... for example, you can load multiple states for a trip but they will be combined into a single map file on the ppc.

Multiple memory cards can be used to transport maps.

Finally, in the "good news - bad news" category;

4) Currently no limit on # of devices as long as at any given time only ONE device is being used and can only be used by the registered user.
Starting w/ next release, there will be limit of installations allowed.

They had better not do some kind of crappy activation thing like tom tom.. That is the reason i DID NOT buy tom tom. I refuse to activate software for my PPC. If the do such a thing the will lose at least one customer, no matter how good their software is!

I use TomTom Navigator 5. I have now had it on 3 devices (2 blue angels and a hermes) and have managed to transfer and reactivate with a minimum of fuss... well OK, the transfer to the Hermes was a pain, but that was down to an idiot in TomsTom's telephone support team, and I got a handsome apology for it.

TomTom does allow you to do the 'walking mode' thing. It strikes me as being very tolerant of being off-road. It does not do the save-a-route thing, so far as I am aware, but I would like it to! I'm interested in the comment on voice prompts, because even though TomTom is known as the 'SatNag' in my family, it does do the think ahead thing ("turn right, then get into the left lane, then turn left") but it only ever tells you twice - once a distance from the point in question (the distance appears to be defined by your speed of travel, the faster you are going, the earlier it tells you).

I'm glad there's competition out there: TomTom - I want that 'save-a-route' thing.

According to iGuidence, its a known issue with v3.0 that affects *all* Pocket PC Phone users, although I'm not sure if we're talking just Windows Mobile 5.0 or any previous PPC OS as well. They are working on a fix, although it was supposed to be released in late August. Until the fix comes out, the workaround they suggest is turning off your data connection before you open iGuidence and for the duration of your using iGuidence. Hope this helps.

Default iNav 3.0

Try TomTom Navigator software for off-road navigation.

Inav have issued a patch to correct this and other issues. It is a beta till they release it officially on Monday. Log into Inav's site using the username you used to register 3.0 and you can download the patch.

Yeah, weird. I've heard others report problems as well, but have received prompt help from iNav when they emailed them about it.......good luck
