That's a nice looking piece, a little bit bigger (unless your head is small ) than I expected though. Btw, nice write up -- I've had issues with BT headsets for sometime, still searching for "the one".
I think I do have a small head.

The boss, the boss' wife, and myself, all just picked up the jx-10. Paired with my 650, it's giving me some grief (static when my phone is more than 3 feet away). I think the boss's wife uses a Perl, and she's experiencing some of the same difficulties

That could be due to a number of reasons - e.g., too much interference in the area you're in, excess number of objects between you and the phone, and even a half-functional Bluetooth profile.

Hm,
Thanks for the advice. However, We used our headsets in multiple locations in the PacNW, all with the same issues. I suppose I should've qualified my statement before noting my difficulty -- I've experience with several Bluetooth headsets across a variety of phones, along with my current one.
And what constitutes a half-functional Bluetooth profile or "excess number of objects"?
I'm more than open to your suggestions for improving the performance of my particular set up, even if they are general.

Well, you've seen in the Windows Mobile world, an OEM can ship a device with a number of Bluetooth profiles, some so buggy to the core that it doesn't always work. Take A2DP, for example. Whether the Treo 650 suffers similar Bluetooth blues (excuse the pun) is something I can't answer. I've not played with that particular device in a long time.
As for excess number of objects, this constitutes anything that interferes with the signal from host to client, thus limiting range. Walls, concrete slabs, metal girders, computer towers, bricks, you name it.
