I've used my hubby's BT250 and tried a BT500, but returned it when there was no improvement in sound quality, and the usb charger isn't a standard mini usb cable. I still don't understand why Jabra didn't go with a standard cable when they got so close by going with a usb charger cable. I ended up a headset that does use a standard mini usb cable, same battery life at the BT250/BT500 and equivalent to better sound quality. The JX10 looked interesting in the store, but was twice the price.

What's the model you bought?

I have a Gennum nXzen Plus 5500 and I get a kick of talking to someone right next to a cleaning guy using a vacuum cleaner. My friends can't even hear the vacuum cleaner, Just me. DSP Rules! I can hear great too because it has a canal piece like my Etymotics ER6i.

I tried Jabras, their inability to be used in noisy places was my biggest turnoff.

Has anyone tried the Plantronics Discovery 645 (which replaceds the 640 and has DSP)?

I haven't tried it, but the design intrigues me. Especially the cylinder charger that looks like a fat pen (complete with pocket clip??). On the bottom of the charger you can attach an AAA battery or various connectors that work with various phone chargers.

EDIT: Just read about the new 655 model 8O

(main Treonauts BT headset review page, where their fav is the Jabra JX10, heh)

Default JX10 and XV6700

I had the JX10 and returned it. The BT signal was really weak and sounded like crap - perhaps because there's only nso much good stuff you can cram into a small device.

Sure, it was really REALLY cool looking and quite small but the functionality issue made me return it. Also, the ear-clip came off too easily. It's removable which is nice but it comes off...sometimes when you're just walking around.

The other thing I didntt like was how the speaker broke-up whenever I tried to listen to windows media files from my pocket pc. Sounded like a 1000Watt amp driving a 5" full range Radio shack speaker.

Just wanted to say thanks for the review, I like the writeup and all the photos

P.S. BTW, is the Motorola H700 their latest/greatest headset with a PowerFlip, which turns on/off when you open/close the hinged boom?

The previous review site apparently likes this feature so much because it lets you easily pick up the call on your cellphone when you don't want to use your headset (by simply leaving the H700 boom closed)?

Then again I'm worried about the H700 "cheek problem"...

Yes. Unfortunately for you, that is the case with the Jabras.

Sorry - thanks to the wonders of camera phones, the picture quality sucks. I didn't have access to a real camera when I took this.

That's a nice looking piece, a little bit bigger (unless your head is small ) than I expected though. Btw, nice write up -- I've had issues with BT headsets for sometime, still searching for "the one".
