I think Engadget pegged this right - Pink phones aren't aimed at smartphone users at all, even if the underlying OS is still some version of Windows Mobile and the specs are derived from WM7 chasis 1 specs. On the other hand, this is a refreshing if risky venture by Microsoft - what do you guys think?

It looks like they borrowed pretty heavily from the Pre hardware-wise

It's been said before, but if they're trying to push a consumer mobile platform, why don't they just stick a cellular modem in the zuneHD. These renders look like cheap pieces of crap.

They are supposed to take the place of the side kick - so they are right on par. Nothing wrong with the way they look because they ARE geared toward teen agers. Did you ever see a side kick - they were even uglier and the kids used them.
