I thought the same but based on this video 6.5 can handle capacitive:

On first looks, it appears to be a successor to the HTC Touch HD which is an absolutely super phone/pda which itself may be improved with WM 6.5 release.

I too need a keyboard. I often use my WM phone as a remote terminal (I found GoToMyPC to work the best although it's expensive.)

I just bought a Fuze this year, so I have to wait a bit to upgrade to a higher resolution screen. (The days of running out and getting the latest device on the first day are over for me. I traded that in for a wife and now a wonderful baby boy. It's a trade I'd make in a heartbeat any day!)
