Default Stratego-like Release

The author of Slay (a neat little game) has written a new game based on the boardgame "Stratego" for Pocket PCs. You can get a copy from:

Thank you! My 7-year-old just recently got interested in playing Stratego, and occasionally I let him play games (what few I have) on my PPC. I just have to decide whether it's worth the $20.

I usually avoid x.0 releases of any software, and especially 1.0 releases. Are you using this game, and if so, what's your experience been with it?

I downloaded the demo version and it played without any glitches. The author also has a game called Slay that is very nicely done, and agonisingly well balanced.

I am not familiar with Stratego itself, but I assume this is faithful to the original board game.

A cheaper, but still very playable, alternative is Reveal Your Rank which you can find at:

Many thanks! At half the cost, it's certainly a more viable option for me. I can't imagine my son will balk at the more-faithful board design of the $20 program! Now if only someone could find a free version...

I'd suggest you download both demos and play a game against the computer opponent. IMHO "Reveal Your Rank" doesn't put up much of a fight and it becomes very easy to beat it every time.
