I've been using Spb Pocket Plus. Is there a reason to go to Mobile Shell?

Spb Mobile Shell focuses more on form, while Spb Pocket Plus focuses more on functionality. That said, while they have their similarities, they're two very different products. For example, Spb Pocket Plus offers smart scrolling, IE and File Explorer enhancements, and a contextual close button. Spb Mobile Shell doesn't offer that, but it does offer an all-in-one UI overlay, phone profiles, and finger-friendly navigation.

Your best bet would be to install the trial version of Spb Mobile Shell to see if you like it. I'm running both on my device at the moment, because I find that each offers a unique set of features that make my phone more enjoyable to use. So, you definitely don't have to uninstall one to install the other.

Default Re: Spb Mobile Shell 2.0 Released

*sigh* Still no VGA support (no icons, anyway, for the Today plugin). At least the Today screen plugin doesn't crash anymore under VGA. Probably going to have to pass on this one. I paid for 1.0, but with no VGA support I've pretty much quit using it on my HTC Advantage.

I was just thinking the same thing on my flight this morning. I was playing around with my Cingular 8125 (Wizard) and realized that everything MS 2.0 can do,... can also be done in Pocket Plus. True,... MS looks good and has the nice animation, but with tabs and more customization options in Pocket Plus,.....

I did enjoy the beta, though. And as always,... I am a huge SPB fan. I like their products over any other. But I am just trying to figure out why i want to use MS AND PP when my 8125 is already limited for space. Every little bit helps, you know. I don't use my 8125 as a phone, but for everything else - yes. So,... contact dialing and phone functions from MS are not an issue for me.

I uninstalled SPB Shell 2.0 because it is still preventing the Treo 700wx from ringing or alarming when the today screen is set to show when the device wakes up. I cannot have that. I reported that, along with others last Version. I haven't heard anything back on it.

OK... So I'm a bit lost at what this program will actually do for me.

I have an HTC Touch Dual... Will it enhance my use of this phone? Advantages? Disadvantages?

You may try new Winterface. It does almost the same functions as SPB Mobile Shell and Pocket Plus. It is cheaper, it uses less memory, it has great potential and very intuitive.
Here is the link to a bunch of independent reviews on Winterface.
Here are the screenshots:
