Default O2 Atom - latest ROM update (version 26 April 2006)

The new ROM makes the Atom faster and more stable, the MSFP push e-mail feature obviously is a great addition. I've used Extended System's OneBridge thus far for push e-mail but that slowed down the device and used up a lot of memory. The new native Microsoft MSFP is much better.

Some other ROM features below ... overall a highly recommended upgrade for every Atom owner.

Benefits of upgrade include:
• Overall Performance – Improves overall speed performance.

• AKU2
• Added Messaging & Security Feature Pack for Windows Mobile 5.0 supporting direct push technology. Go to Microsoft for more details and conditions. (requires Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with Service Pack 2).
• General browser performance improvements.
• Added Wireless Manager application to provide easy configuration of wireless LAN, Bluetooth and GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone for users.
• Added a permanent battery status indicator on the Today screen.

• Camera software
• Improves startup time and picture saving time.
• Enhanced user interface with more screen buttons for controlling the strobe flash, picture resolution, exposure and capture mode.
• Improves picture sharpness and white balance control.
• Enhanced quickview mode with options to allow pictures to be instantly disposed of or sent by infrared beam or email.

• FM Radio – Corrects the heartbeat noise in FM radio application.

• Resolutions to following issues
• Cell broadcast support.
• Occasional roaming issue to new network.
• GPRS connectivity with some networks.
• Low phone volume in noisy environment.

the new ROM is a roll-up that includes previously released once, i.e. it includes the previous camera patch as well.

Camera start time is 5 - 6 secs for first start-up and about 3 secs for subsequent calls.

I have no problems with call / voice quality / echos, but didn't have any before the new ROM either.

can someone advise how to set up the push email feature. I am using mail2web and the latest update firmware of O2 Atom but do not know how to have emails pushed to my Atom. Thanks in advance
