Wow, I had one of those. Installed Linux for the first time on my DX2/66 in 1992.

So, can you compare the speed of apps on your 486 with the speed of apps on your PocketPC? I ask because it has always seemed to me that WinCE is rather sluggish and could be a lot faster given the hardware it has to run on, and I have often mentally compared the speed with my old DX2/66.
Thatīs a very hard one. I donīt think you can because itīs something like this: when you had your 486 DX2 66MHz or any other pc for that matter, and you installed the software you had in those days like DOS and Windows 3.1 with MS office 5 or something, you can compare the speed to the brand new 3.06 GHz with winXP and Office XP.

Kind of off-topic, but what I'd really like is a game with great-looking worlds and scenery like this one, where you just wander through it for longer or shorter amounts of time (and are able to pick up where you left off, or anywhere else), and that is not an action game but is instead somehow combined with a word game like bookworm or a simple puzzle game like spb lines or beshaped or bounce out. My problem is I don't have the reflexes for action games or the attention span for an adventure game, but I'm jealous of the scenery.

I don't think the control pad is broken - it works fine, it just wasn't as responsive as you really need in a game like this. I knew I was having problems when I came REALLY close to tossing my iPAQ across the room out of frustration. An old Nintendo gamepad is one thing...but an iPAQ? Ack...

Really a shame, though...I LOVE this friggin' game, almost enough to pick up that external joypad thingy.

The graphics look great so I tried the demo on my H1910 and all I can say is WOW! HINT: For people who haven't played games like this before (like me) you need to hit either of the two keys to the bottom left when holding the PPC in landscape to start the game. Otherwise it looks like your PPC has frozen!

Agreed. I tried the demo on my iPaq and was floored. I was on the verge of buying the thing but there were so many other applications that I was also purchasing at the time that I finally decided to let the $30 price tag out of my shopping cart.

1992?? My first PC was in 1994 and it was a DX2/66... I thought that model was relatively new (I don't believe the DX4/100 was even available yet).

I had also installed Linux at the time... I remember I bought it on CD but the CD was intended to create floppy images... 44 in all to install Linux on my machine!! Spent an entire weekend installing and re-installing before getting it right!!
