I've been using Resco 2005 for a few months & it's really good, but honestly I don't see a reason to upgrade right now, especially since it's yet another thing to buy (albeit with a little discount for current users). My issue is wondering why file managers like Resco, that have a good integrated Today screen, never include a quick access to the files.
Let me explain what I mean: Does anyone remember GigaBar or I am the only user left still in love with it? Yes, it still works, although since it's been abandoned each new OS makes it a little unstable or some features don't work perfectly. WM2003 can still manage it, but not sure if anything newer does.
Now, if there is one GigaBar feature more useful than any other (apart from closing applications of course <G>), it's Files. Remember that? Assign any button on the toolbar (always visible) & you're done. Not only it points to files, but instead of opening an explorer window & taking more memory, it simply gives you a drop-down list of your drives/folders & you can do all the basic functions right there, click to open a file, hold to copy/cut/paste, rename, delete & properties.
Since programs like Word & Excel don't have a properly functioning File/Open feature & probably never will on a PPC, why bother opening yet another application just to find a subfolder on a flash card when it can be easily done through the toolbar? While moving this to the Today screen is still one extra click to get there, at least it's easier than opening another program first.
Hopefully Resco or any other file manager (or Today add-in, or toolbar program) will add this feature sometime soon. Good ol' Gigabar may not work on my next upgrade. The horror! 8O
