As the text Rocco quoted said, this is generally used in social situations. For example, on a first date, some people would have a friend call them. If the date wasn't going well, they'd tell the date it was an emergency to give them an easy way out. This software allows something similar without imposing on your friends.
Yeah, it's not exactly honest or gutsy, but it's a lot easier than saying, "This date sucks. I'm outta here."
