I've been using Pocket Plus forever, but I installed phoneAlarm a few days ago for the profile support. Now, I notice myself checking the battery meter in the phone Alarm plugin more often than the meter in the title bar. I usually have Pocket Plus on the Diary page, so I don't see its Today plugin meter that often.

Default Today screen too slow on PPC-6700

I agree that SPB Pocket Plus has features I cannot live without, but it has so much that I HAVE to live without, that I think the price is pretty high for what you get.

I cannot live without the battery meter or the close button. They also have two 'applets' - the soft reset and 'alt-tab/switch programs' which I have mapped to my camera and i.e. buttons on my device respectively. That has cut down on a lot of my stylus use, for which I am greatful.

But I wish I could choose what to install and what not to install. The program takes up a lot of memory and there are several features I could live without.

The IE features are pretty weak. I do use the multiple windows sometimes, but I could live without it and would uninstall if given the choice.

The file explorer functionality is something I never use. I wish it wasn't installed.

The Today Screen plugin is just too slow on my PPC to use. If I have it enabled, it takes up to 80 seconds to reboot the PPC, plus all of my application launches were delayed by a second or two, which became really annoying. I have switched it off - wish I could uninstall it.

What would be really great is if a 'lite' version came without some of the bells and whistles or if you could pick ala carte. For me, I don't like the pricing of the application bundle when there are many features I cannot use.

Memory is so precious on my PPC-6700, I would be willing to pay $12 for the features I use (hardware buttons, battery bar) and get rid of the things I don't (Today screen, Safe Mode, IE/File Explorer).

rlieving,
open the pocket plus options window. click the tools menu. choose Uninstall Components...
This will let you remove any parts of pocket plus that you do not want. I removed things like the fancy icons, the repeating alarms, the help, those huge today themes. All very easy. To get them back simply reinstall the program.
