No, it its working ins qvga on my e805 running SE, thats quite a shame, I'll try the resource hack to see if its more stable than the older version in VGA.

Shame on you Adobe, shame on you :idontthinkso:

you need to go to your windows control panel > add/remove programs, and remove adobe reader for ppc 1.0 first.

I got the same "already installed" message- just go into the registry and delete any adobe reference and it will install fine.

Got it running on my Toshiba e800 and it indeed does not support either SE nor VGA. What a joke.

I installed it without a problem into iPaq File Store on my hx4700. It works fine in portrait, but is completely not compatible with landscape mode.

Also, the fonts look VERY fuzzy. Acrobat's font rendering engine really sucks!

I strongly recommend RepliGo (www.cerience.com). You can print anything (incl. Adobe Acrobat documents) to ReliGo file and then view it (both standard and reflow mode) on your PPC. Fast, reliable, flexible and works great on hx4700.

Cheers,

More importantly, is it really worth bothering to install this monster when Repligo performs so well?
Question 1: Did you run Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel on you desktop/notebook to remove it there as well? FYI, it installed perfectly fine on my hx4700 (into iPaq File Store), but I have not installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 1.0 PPC on my desktop since the last time I rebuilt this machine from scratch.

Question 2: Do not bother. ReliGo is faster, better and more flexible than this overbloated piece of bad code.

Cheers,

Ya, I can only see acrobat being helpful if it supports vga landscape. What a shame.................

Gadgetman -- What version is the new one you installed? The one already loaded on our 4700 is 2.3.

Huh? There is no Adobe Reader pre-installed on my hx4700. In any case it only got released by Adobe right now. Are you sure you are not confusing ClearVue PDF Viewer from Westtek with Adobe Reader from Adobe?

I must say that I generally deslike PDF format but I am in love with FlashPaper from Macromedia, 1/10 the cost, of Adobe Writer for making conversions, half the file size and 10 times the conversion speed.....and you can still do a PDF if so desired or just a Flash file. HELLO!?
