YouTube mobile has soft launched using the address http://m.youtube.com. Since it streams 3GP files using the RTSP protocol, it doesn't yet support Windows Mobile devices. The above linked post to Technology Evangelist shows a list of currently supported devices. The site is nice and clean but you just can't watch the videos...yet. I tried using the similar TCPMP player and received an error message that the RTSP protocol was not supported. If you're wondering what it looks like after a successful launch, check out this video posted on Gizmodo. If you find a way to play the stream, please post it! Until then, it looks like downloading the Flash ".flv" file is our only option.

Works perfectly on my HTC TyTN on WM6. HTC includes an app called "streaming media" made to play RealPlayer crap, but it plays the youtube content just fine.

Yep, all the latest HTC devices which includes the "Streaming Media" player application can stream .3GP files fine (3GP isn't Real but an MPEG4 standard of its own).

I have HTC advantage with streaming media player, but when I use IE to open you tube site video, I get an error message that either java script is not enabed or I do not have flash player.
I try to copy the URL ( I am not sure as there is no 'rtsp' in the link) in to streaming player, I get can not connect. may be I am doing something wrong. let me know, how I can play them using streaming player.

As we still can not find the way to stream YouTube video (http://m.youtube.com) directly to WM device (without HCT Media Streaming Player). Therefore you can only manually download YouTube videos using http://keepvid.com to .flv format then playback with TCPMP.

However the best way to catch the latest obviously would be using RSS feeds.

YouTube offers several RSS feeds for categorized groups of videos (such as recently uploaded, top viewed etc) as well as customized feeds for users and tags.

I think I was using www.youtube.com instead of m.youtube.com and secondly, connecting to internet through activesync did not allow streaming player to find the network but through wifi I was able to watch videos.

Adobe announced work on a Flash Lite 3 player w while ago. It's supposed to support video. It was never clear to me if that meant it actually would support YouTube, but it **should**.

Works fine on my Nokia E62 - well... the first video I tried (Plane Landing -- EEK) was fine, but the second one crashed the phone - twice!! - while loading in Real Player. Then I gave up.
