Just curious, that bargain pda blurp makes it sound like the hardware featureset is fluid (including the CPU) and can be repackaged for different vendors? For example it says 4" VGA screen but the photo seems to show standard Pocket PC QVGA...

Judging by photo (assuming that's 4" screen on there), how big is that thing?

OT P.S. I wish HP had continued their bleeding-edge trend and equipped the 5450 w/ a VGA screen, working downsized as PPC2002 QVGA for now but expandable later with future .NET releases...

Umm, "32MB Intel Strata Flash?" Doesn't that meant that this will suffer that same fate as the Viewsonic and the iPAQ 1910? Having to run the OS in RAM?

Does a CE.NET platform take advantage of the 400MHz speed? or is it ignored like the existing devices...

Anyone know if the Ipaq's will be upgradable to CE.NET?

No, Intel's strataflash is NOR ROM like in iPAQs, Jornadas and Toshibas. Not NAND ROM.

No, you won't ever see CE.NET as the OS on the device.

Now, will you ever see Pocket PC 200x based on CE.NET rather than CE 3.0? Most certianly. When? Dunno.

Will your iPAQ be upgradable? Dunno that either, but given Compaq's most excellent track record, and assuming HP's dismal track record decision makers don't corrupt the iPAQ team, yeah, I'd say iPAQs will get the upgrade - though I doubt 3600's will be eligible.

VERY TRUE...ESPECIALLY IF THIS IS GOING TO ACT AS A PHOEN DEVICE, YOU'D HAVE TO HOLD IT UPSIDE DOWN...UNLESS THEY INTEND IT TO BE USED WITH A WIRED EAR-PHONE/MIC THINGY
